Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology focus on the use of biological systems, microorganisms, and molecular tools to develop practical solutions in medicine, agriculture, industry, and environmental management. The field combines molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and biochemical engineering to improve products, processes, and technologies.
Current research includes genetic engineering, synthetic biology, industrial fermentation, enzyme technology, microbial biotechnology, bioprocess optimization, and environmental bioremediation. Advances in genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and genome editing technologies are driving innovation across health, food, energy, and manufacturing sectors.
