Horticulture (HOR)

Section Information

Horticulture focuses on the science and practice of cultivating fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, and landscape species. The field integrates plant biology, soil science, genetics, crop management, and postharvest technology to improve productivity, quality, and sustainability.

Current research includes plant breeding, protected cultivation, urban horticulture, sustainable production systems, postharvest physiology, and value-added horticultural products. Advances in precision agriculture, biotechnology, controlled environment systems, and climate-resilient practices are shaping modern horticulture.

This section publishes experimental studies, field trials, breeding research, production system analyses, and review articles related to horticultural crops and sustainable cultivation practices.
