Section Information

Ceramics in Materials Science focus on the design, processing, characterization, and application of inorganic, non-metallic materials with crystalline or glassy structures. The field studies structural and functional ceramics used in energy systems, electronics, biomedical devices, aerospace, and construction.

Current research includes advanced oxide and non-oxide ceramics, ceramic composites, high-temperature materials, electroceramics, bioceramics, and nanostructured ceramic systems. Advances in powder processing, sintering methods, additive manufacturing, and microstructural engineering are improving performance, durability, and functionality.

This section publishes experimental studies, materials development research, processing innovations, structural analyses, and review articles related to ceramic materials and their applications.
