Oceanography (OCR)
Section Information
Oceanography focuses on the scientific study of the oceans, including their physical, chemical, biological, and geological processes. The field examines ocean circulation, marine ecosystems, seafloor dynamics, and ocean–atmosphere interactions that influence climate and global systems.
Current research includes ocean currents, marine biogeochemistry, coastal dynamics, deep-sea exploration, climate change impacts on oceans, and marine resource sustainability. Advances in satellite remote sensing, autonomous underwater vehicles, ocean sensors, and numerical modeling are expanding understanding of ocean processes.
This section publishes field investigations, laboratory analyses, modeling studies, interdisciplinary research, and review articles related to marine systems and ocean science.
