The field integrates engineering, human factors, management, and policy to improve safety performance and resilience.
Current research includes risk analysis, accident modeling, safety management systems, occupational health, transportation safety, process safety, and resilience engineering. Advances in data analytics, real-time monitoring, simulation tools, and human-centered design are strengthening proactive safety strategies.
