Biophysics (BPH)
Section Information
Biophysics focuses on the application of physical principles and quantitative methods to understand biological systems. The field studies the structure, dynamics, and interactions of biomolecules, cells, and tissues using tools from physics, mathematics, and engineering.
Current research explores molecular mechanics, membrane dynamics, protein folding, cellular mechanics, bioenergetics, and structural biology. Advances in imaging, spectroscopy, computational modeling, and single-molecule techniques are expanding knowledge of biological processes at multiple scales.
This section publishes experimental studies, theoretical analyses, quantitative modeling research, instrumentation developments, and review articles related to the physical basis of biological structure and function.
