Section Information

Hardware and Architecture in Computer Science focus on the design, organization, and optimization of computing systems at the hardware level. The field studies processor architecture, memory systems, embedded platforms, and hardware acceleration to improve performance, efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Current research addresses multi-core and many-core processors, parallel and distributed architectures, system-on-chip design, reconfigurable computing, edge and cloud hardware systems, and energy-efficient computing. Advances in semiconductor technologies, hardware–software co-design, and specialized accelerators are shaping next-generation computing platforms.

This section publishes design studies, performance evaluations, architectural modeling research, hardware prototyping work, and review articles related to computing hardware systems and architectural innovation.
