Ocean Engineering (EOC)

Ocean Engineering (EOC)

Section Information

Ocean Engineering focuses on the design, construction, and operation of systems and structures that function in marine and offshore environments. The field integrates mechanical, civil, structural, and environmental engineering to address challenges related to waves, currents, seabed conditions, and harsh ocean climates.

Current research includes offshore platforms, coastal protection systems, underwater vehicles, ocean renewable energy, marine hydrodynamics, and subsea infrastructure. Advances in numerical modeling, sensor technologies, autonomous systems, and resilient materials are shaping modern ocean engineering solutions.

This section publishes experimental investigations, hydrodynamic studies, structural analyses, system design research, and review articles related to offshore structures, marine systems, and coastal engineering.
