Imaging Science and Photographic Technology focus on the capture, processing, analysis, storage, and reproduction of visual information. The field integrates optics, electronics, computer science, materials science, and visual perception to improve image acquisition systems and imaging performance.
Current research includes digital imaging sensors, computational photography, image processing algorithms, color science, remote sensing imaging, medical imaging technologies, and advanced visualization systems. Advances in high-resolution sensors, machine learning, and real-time image enhancement are transforming imaging applications across science, medicine, industry, and media.
