Biomaterials in Materials Science focus on the design, development, characterization, and application of materials intended to interact with biological systems. The field integrates materials science, biology, chemistry, and medicine to create safe and effective materials for healthcare and biomedical applications.
Current research includes biodegradable polymers, bioactive ceramics, metallic implants, tissue engineering scaffolds, drug delivery systems, and surface modification techniques to enhance biocompatibility. Advances in nanotechnology, 3D printing, regenerative medicine, and smart biomaterials are expanding therapeutic possibilities.
This section publishes experimental investigations, materials development studies, biological performance evaluations, translational research, and review articles related to biomaterial innovation and clinical applications.
