Remote Sensing (RMS)
Section Information
Remote Sensing focuses on the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of information about the Earth's surface and atmosphere using satellite, airborne, and ground-based sensor systems. The field integrates geoscience, environmental science, engineering, and data analytics to monitor natural and human-induced changes.
Current research includes multispectral and hyperspectral imaging, radar and LiDAR systems, climate monitoring, land use mapping, disaster assessment, and environmental modeling. Advances in high-resolution sensors, unmanned aerial systems, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence are improving accuracy and real-time analysis capabilities.
This section publishes observational studies, algorithm development research, geospatial analyses, sensor system innovations, and review articles related to remote sensing science and applications.
