Developmental Biology (DBI)
Section Information
Developmental Biology focuses on the processes that control growth, differentiation, and the formation of tissues and organs in living organisms. The field examines how genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms guide development from fertilization to adulthood.
Current research explores embryogenesis, stem cell biology, morphogenesis, gene regulation during development, and regeneration. Advances in imaging, single-cell analysis, genome editing, and molecular profiling are providing deeper insight into developmental pathways and congenital disorders.
This section publishes experimental studies, molecular and genetic analyses, imaging-based investigations, theoretical models, and review articles related to developmental processes in plants and animals.
