Mathematical and Computational Biology focus on the use of mathematical models, computational methods, and data analysis techniques to understand biological systems. The field integrates biology, mathematics, computer science, and statistics to study complex processes across molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecosystem levels.
Current research includes systems biology, population dynamics, epidemiological modeling, bioinformatics, network analysis, and computational genomics. Advances in high-throughput data generation, machine learning, and multiscale modeling are enabling deeper insight into biological structure, function, and evolution.
This section publishes theoretical models, computational simulations, data-driven analyses, algorithm development, and interdisciplinary studies that apply quantitative approaches to biological questions.
