Composites in Materials Science (MCM)
Section Information
Composites in Materials Science focus on the design, fabrication, characterization, and application of materials made by combining two or more distinct constituents to achieve enhanced mechanical, thermal, electrical, or chemical properties. The field studies polymer, metal, ceramic, and hybrid matrix composites used in aerospace, automotive, civil, biomedical, and energy sectors.
Current research includes fiber-reinforced composites, nanocomposites, multifunctional materials, lightweight structural systems, and sustainable composite technologies. Advances in additive manufacturing, surface modification, modeling, and failure analysis are improving performance, durability, and cost efficiency.
This section publishes experimental investigations, materials development studies, processing research, structural analyses, and review articles related to composite materials and advanced engineered systems.
